chapters 26 & 27

Paddle was pickd up by a boy with a net.  The boy said, "Did you know that you are on a french boat headed to France?". They travdled to France  In France  paddle's story made it in the newspaper.  He had been traveling for four yeras!  The boy who made paddle saw the story.  It made him feel happy.

The old lady kept her promise. When it spring she put him back in the water.  paddle experiened currents and tides.  He had reached sea!

Paddle spent the winter with an old lady in  Montreal  Canada.  She told a little boy about the history of the St.Lawrence River.  She will put paddle back in the river in the spring.

Paddle splashed in 30 foot waves. Then he  traveled down the Niagra River.  He was in Lake Ontario at last!

Chapter 22

Traveling along the coast of Lake Erie Paddle among the sights and sounds of commerce.
Paddle added seven new cities to the copper plate on the bottom of his canoe. He was even in the newspapers!
Though other ships take the Welland Canal through Niagara Falls, paddle didn't.

"Mother! Look! A little man! In a boat!" A child screamed.

 Paddle dropped a long way down...

In Detroit a man ask to buy Paddle for his museum but the girl and her father said no. On a boat again the kind girl dropped him in Lake Erie to cotinue his journey.

Chapter 20

Paddle drifted to Lake Huron. It was winter, the water turned to ice  that froze  paddle to the shore.  Men and boys who were ice fishing accidentally freed paddle with their sleds.  Paddle skated on the ice on his copper plate all over Lake Huron.  As spring came paddle was 2 years old.  A  lihle girl found him in Bay City, Michian.  She put him on her lap as they traveled by boat to Detroit.
